Hi there!
In
English today we have been talking about guns in America. We have read an
article about a robbery at a pharmacy, where the owner afterwards got himself a
gun, for protection. He brings the gun along with him for 7 years, and then at
the18th of January 1997 his shop is again attacked, and this time he is armed,
and shoots the robber. He is dead, one shot to the head.
Guns in
America has been a topic of much debate, even here in Denmark. It is a classic
topic for English exams, and in classes we watch film, read text and write
essays about it. I personally think it is an interesting topic, and there are
so many perspectives and point of views, it is an never ending topic.
In my
opinion the gun laws in America are too
loose, and it is too easy to get a gun. I respect the opinion that guns should
be accessed easily, but proven by the many accidents, guns are the source of
way too many accidents, around 1,500 a year in the US.
I think
you should have to go though a kind of test before you could get a licence to a
gun, like here where I live. I hope that with Obama the laws will be tightened
a little. You can have a gun, but with some safety, please!
Bye
poodles! - Be safe!
-K
