#314; Proof of life

Hello there! I'm not dead - just lacking the inspiration/motivation to write a meaningful post right now. I'm at university and life is generally treating me well. So here's just a little proof of life, since I haven't posted anything in eons.

#313: About the "unrelated note"

So yeah, about the "on an unrelated note".. My "lovely" boyfriend kinda pressured me into telling him the url for this blog. One could say that it was a stupid move to tell him I had a blog in the first place, when I'm not too keen on showing it to people, and I would agree with said "one". It's not like he blackmailed me or anything, he's not that horrible, but as he said "you might as well show me now, otherwise I'll find it myself, and make it so much worse!"
Honestly, I'm not sure if those were the exact words, but it was the essence of what he said. And I sadly had to acknowledge that it would indeed be worse if he found it on his own and then was able to torment me with it - so I give up the url "voluntarily".

Aaaaaaand I regret it 😂 (btw, since when did emojis happen on blogspot?!)

He then proceeded to snoop through some of the most horrible and cringey (in my opinion) posts on the blog, especially from some of the first years.. noooooooo..
And since we were talking on the phone at the time I had live commentary on all of the horrible posts that I really just want to forget all about.
Why I haven't deleted them? Well, even though I want to forget they even happened, those horrible posts are still a part of the blog, and part of my most horrible blogging habits, and admittedly - cringey-ness aside, it can be almost fun to read through some of them from time to time. Still - reading them on your own is okay-ish. Having other people read it and comment on the horribleness of it all. HORRIBLE. DO. NOT. WANT.

So, in conclusion: My evil boyfriend have trawled through some of my blog posts and has teased me with it.

(and yes, I call my boyfriend babe💓)

#311; Hi, I'm not dead!

This blog has been inactive for months..

To be just a tad more precise it is today the 28th of January, 2017 - and the last post on this blog is from the 25th of March, 2016.. Soeh.. It's been quite close to a year. I do have a good explanation for 7 of the months, though!

I have been traveling Australia and New Zealand for just about 7 months, and I came home the 26th of January.

So there's that! I have many times doing my travels thought about posting some updates on my blog, but the thought has always slipped out of my mind, or I have just decided to live the experience, and then maybe write about it when I came home. This is what I am planing on doing now, and maybe I'll stretch it over a few posts, but we'll see.

It has been such a great feeling to finally come home! My parents visited me in Sydney for two weeks starting at the end of November - and when they left to go home I had a few options; I could go back to Melbourne (where I had come from to meet them in Sydney), I could go home with them, or I could go to New Zealand.

The choice became New Zealand, as I didn't feel ready to go home at that point, and I didn't fancy flailing around in Melbourne and risk not having accommodation over Christmas and New Years. And well, I was already on the other side of the planet, so I figured I might as well go to New Zealand while I was there in the first place.

I was lucky to be able to travel with the weather, meaning I was able to move around and stay in temperatures I, as a normally pasty white Scandinavian, could survive in. The highest temperatures I experienced was about 35 degrees Celsius, and admittedly I was on the brink of melting 24/7... This was in Cairns, one of the bigger cities on the north of the East Coast, in "Tropical North Queensland".. "Tropical" isn't really what I'm used to so that was definitely a huge change for me.

The big change was especially because at that point I came straight from the "winter" down in Adelaide - South Australia. To be fair, the winters they claim to have are not just mild, but for me, most of the days I experienced the 1½ week I spent in Adelaide could easily have been the spring back home. We are talking about 15 degrees here, and most of the locals were running around in giant jackets, hats and gloves. That was extremely strange for me to see, as we break out the light jackets, and some of the true viking even wear shorts at this point of the spring back home. Now, you might think I'm highly exaggerating, but I seriously know 3-4 guys who stubbornly wear shorts as soon as the thermometer says 15 degrees Celsius outside.

I had read online that the warmest months in New Zealand would be from December to February, which suited me really well as basically all the clothing I had was summer-y, and I did really have space for buying more clothes - my bags were packed almost to the brim. And yes, bags, plural! You accumulate a lot of shit over 6 months, so by the time I was flying to New Zealand I had 4 (!!!) bags..
Two "big bags", a big duffle bag and a small 25 liters hiking bagpack. Then I had two backpacks, where one of them was packed into one of the bigger bags. So I had two pieces of checked-in baggage, one carry-on and then my small handbag. I didn't exactly travel as primitively as I could've.

This post is turning out to be quite long, so I'll write more about my Australia and New Zealand adventures in other posts. And I promise there wont be several months between posts, as it has more or less been custom for the last 1½-2 years - I am really not good at writing on a blog, but as it is something I really want to do, I'll get better.. Maybe ;-)

Till next time!

Little PSA

Hi there!

Some time back I swore I would NEVER take the famous trip down memory lane, and go through my old blogposts, because I came across one, and it made me cringe so damn hard I couldn't really look at it for longer than 15 seconds - those seconds felt like a lifetime!

Buuut, I'm going to do it anyway! The reason why I'm doing this because I've seen that some of the pictures used have been taken down, and since I sometimes posted a picture with very little text, it doesn't make a lot of sense to have those posts still there.

I've started a thing where I'm giving my blogposts numbers:
I'm not really sure if I'm going to keep doing that, but we'll see..

I once promised in a post that I wouldn't go back and edit old posts, no matter how cringe worthy they might be - but I found a loophole in my own promise; I never mentioned not editing the "headlines"! So I might do that to a few posts, but I'm going to make sure it won't go "too far", especially because it's okay to have been hella awkward teenanger (Lord knows I was and can still be, woops), and I'm not going to be too strict on myself, awkwardness should not be totally forgotten, after all, it was who I was at the time ;)

Small changes might be coming, so let's see how it's gonna go - cheers!

#310: Music recommendation

Hi there!

A lot of things have happened in my life since I last updated this blog (a lot can happen in roughly 6 months....), but I intend to get better at this, also because I found out it can be quite therapeutic for me to type out things I might need to get off my chest. Which is also part of the reason I have about 30 drafts of things I needed to write down, but have no intention of ever sharing with the world.

I am going to start small, and post some music recommendations , pictures from my life, and inspired posts (like promts) and maybe smaller text posts until I get into the habit of posting more regularly, regularly is not defined as anything on purpose, as I don't really know how fast I'm gonna pick up on this again.

Well, moving on to what I actually wanted to do with this post - recommending some music!
I recently started listening to twenty one pilots, and I have become quite a fan. twenty one pilots was one of the band I've heard a bit about, but have never "reached out" to myself - and therefore have not heard a lot of their music.

But then I came across their newest hit: "Stressed out" - and I am absolutely in love with it! With the knowledge that I like this piece of music, it made me search for more of their music - one of the best music "decisions" I've made in a long time - so I thought it could be a thing to pass on, as I know a lot of people find "new" music through others' recommendations, so here are mine;

Apart from "Stressed out" I have also fallen in love with the track "Car radio" - something about it just fits my mood at the moment, so I'll throw that in your faces as well;

Lastly I want to give you a link to a youtube playlist with a lot of their music - here
There you are, my current music recommendation for today

#308: It has been 5 months and 22 days..

And holy dangflabbit shit.. I'm sorry guys.

I just checked my list of posts - and the last post was from 3/3-2015.. Which is a hella long time ago. I actually made some nearly finished drafts, but I didn't get to the stage of actually posting them, for some reason. I made drafts about how I was kind of scared about my future when I was reading for finals, I started a posts about how relationships with your siblings can be complicated and annoying - and actually a lot of other posts.. I just never finished them, and thus never got to posting them.

But during these awfully many months, exciting things have happened in my life. I've graduated - eyyyy! Yes - I graduated and got my hat! The damn hat I feel like I've fought for (blood, sweat and tears have been shed) for three looong years. And I was S O super scared and excited about it at the same time - because I had no idea what my life was going to revolve around when I didn't have school. It feels kind of pathetic, I know, but that was how I felt.

The thing is that I have no flippin' idea what I what to study at university - which is something I have to figure out. So I'm taking a gap year - or maybe two.. As my mother says when people ask about my plans: "Well, she's taking at least one gap year, maybe two. We're not pressuring her into choosing something as fast as possible." This is amazing for me, my parents are really supportive when it comes to this, which was a huge relief, especially since I was close to dropping out of school in year 2 because I had a minor breakdown over school, homework and stress.

For some reason, some divine power granted me my wishes when it came to final exams - no oral math and no oral biotechnology! These subjects are my main subjects, and it's not because I don't like them (cough cough ~fuck you math~ cough), but I just really dislike the exam "method" (does that make sense) with these two subject. I ended up getting Ancient Studies (C-level - part of a song from the Odyssey) and History (A-level - focus on Rome) and praise whatever divine force made this happen, I was so happy I could cry! Being emotional probably had something to do with the lack of sleep, as it is tradition that all of the seniors have a huge party (at a club or somewhere similar) the night before we are told what subjects we have for our final exams.

All of my exams went well, and I actually scored the dangflabbit H I G H E S T  S C O R E for my final exam, and holy shit I was so damn happy! I think my teacher was quite happy as well, she looked like it, that's for sure! It's tradition here that you have your parents and maybe some family waiting outside the room where you're being examined, and I had my parents, my moms sister and her husband, all of my siblings and my brothers' girlfriends were there as well. So - no pressure!

How it happens: you go into the room of the exam and get examined by your teacher and a examiner, and after your time is up, you go outside while they decide on your grade. When they're done you get called into the room again, and when you have gotten your grade/score, you come out again - and it's all over. For the last exam someone gets to put your hat on your head, and for me that was my mom. And we cried. We all cried. Holy damn, all of the people cried, I'm not kidding. My father, my uncle, my sister in laws and even my oldest brother shed a little tear - now that's impressive! My mother (and I) cried the most, I'm pretty sure a lot of the tears were kind of relief, as in "the last three years are finally goddamn over - and it is amazing!" and the fact that I ended it the best way possible was just.. It felt amazing, absolutely amazing! (especially because a certain cunt someone didn't get the highest grade, and she fucking cried about it.. Classic. #sorrycertainlynotsorry)

Well, I actually put my ass down and get to write a post - I am actually a bit proud of myself! So to end this quite long post I will post a picture of me with my hat - my precious, precious hat!

Look how happy I am - horray for me!

#307: Austria

Hey you all!

So since I haven't been posting for about a million years (a million years here is about 3 weeks in human time), I thought I could post some pictures from my skiing trip to Austria! The week was brilliant, I must admit that my dear boyfriend got a lot better at skiing in during those 6 days than I had ever dared to hope. He went down a slope categorised as "black" the last day, and "black" is a lot in Austria. The black slopes are those with a steepness of 70 degrees. I not quite sure how they measure it, but when you're at the top of it - it's clear to see that they're different from the others! Anyway, here we go -  I hope you like the pictures, I enjoyed the trip, and thereby taking the pictures!

#306: I am going skiing - yay!

Hello dudes and dudettes!

Just like last year I am going skiing! This year I'm not going with the youth-club-thing-a-ling, but I'm going with my parents like I used to. This time is different though.. This time I am dragging my boyfriend along with me!

Ahh, yes. My poor, lovely boyfriend is being voluntarily dragged with me and my parents to Austria to try skiing for the first time. Needles to say, I am so flipping excited I can barely handle it! We're driving to Austria ourselves in our volvo, and another difference from 3 year ago - this time we're 4 people to take turns to drive, so it's not just my mother and father who's responsible for the driving. I am also quiiiite excited for that part of it, as I haven't been driving on the German autobahn (motorway) during the night, and with the parts of the autobahn with no speed limit (yup, that's a thing in Germany.. No speed limits on some of das autobahn, you can look it up if you don't believe me), it can very hard to "read" the upcoming cars from behind, when the only thing you can see is the car's headlights.

As mentioned, my boyfriend has never tried skiing before, and I am so excited to show him everything wonderful about skiing and amazing winter wonderland that is Austria in the winter. Skiing is literally one of the only sports I'm good at! And I'm serious here - I can't think of any sport aside from skiing that I'm actually good at, I'm just one of those people who are just extremely uncoordinated with a ball, a bat of any kind or hurdles or anything. I'm just very uncoordinated, but skiing is my secret power. So as my boyfriend hasn't tried it before, or have seen me on skies, I am SO looking forward to showing him a sport that I'm actually good at.

"Secretly" I'm also looking forward to see him flip and flop a bit around on these giant skies with limited amount of movement. I can't wait. Of course I'm not going to be a mean and evil stunt-on-skies-for-the-first-time-filming-girlfriend all the time.. Just for some time the first day ;-) I have kind of promised some of our friends that I would film him a bit, and honestly  who am I to deny the wishes of the masses ;-)

We are going to live in a apartment the four of us, my parents in one bedroom, and my boyfriend and I in another. There's a kitchen, a living room with TV, two toilets and a bath and wifi in the apartment - it is going to be a blast! Of course we are going to be spending as much time as possible out on the slope, but having a nice apartment to come home to is certainly not a bad thing. The area we will be skiing in is called Zauchensee, and there's currently over a metre of snow in the city itself located at 1350 meters hight. I've been there two times before, so I know the area quite well by now.

I am so stoked to go - and we're driving tonight! Before I can go I need to do a few things first. Among those things; finding clothes/equipment, packing aaaaaaand handing in a 7 hour English assignment. Preferably done in 3 hours. Damn. I'm not quite sure how amazing that assignment is going to be, I am dreading it a bit - I hate writing essays last minute, but I've had two assignments (chemistry and maths, 4-5 hours each) this last week, which has drained a lot of my energy, so I don't have a lot of it for writing this damn English essay. One could argue that I choose English on A level myself, and yes I did, but 15-17 hours of assignments in one week would be tough on anyone. But I just have to get it done, so I can relax and focus on the oncoming vacation - phew..

So I just need to breath, relax and get my assignment done so I can go on this awesome vacation! I hope the wifi in the apartment is good enough for me to maybe upload some pictures, and I hope the weather is going to be great! Ah, I am just so excited! (And I'm secretly hoping not to break a leg or any other body part!)

#305: Letting out some air

I just need to let some air out..

Being imperfect can be very liberating, and not giving a fuck can feel unrealistically awesome. But being who you are, might also cause some people to not like you. I have often experienced this; having people not like me, even though I've never actually done actively done anything to make them dislike me. Sometimes these people just stays out of your way, and keeps their dislike to themselves and/or their friends. I'm okay with that. You may dislike me, but as long as you don't bother me or any of my friends, I often don't give a flying fuck - which is how it should always be. Because fuck those who do not like you for you!

Today I encountered one of the rare things, an indirect message of dislike. I have had to calm a bit down, because what happened really upset me, but I'll write how I first perceived it. I am in my final year in this school, which I believe is approximately equivalent to high school, and we are writing year-books. I have had some really bad experiences with people writing my yearbook. In middle school most people in my class didn't really care for me and mostly just let the bullies do their thing. My two best friends were writing my page in the book with the class as well, and "reported" back some of the thing the others had wanted to write in my yearbook. Anyway, the girls saved me for most of it - but that "memory" have been returning to me for some time now.

The yearbook is written electronically, and then printed, and everybody in the class can access and edit your page. Of course you're not supposed to look at your own page, but being totally paranoid, I got my mum to read it, just to see if there was anything "horrible". Even though I was worried, I trust the three people "in charge" of my page, to not have written anything terrible, but when my mum read the "Good to know.." section, I could tell on her face that something was weird. Indeed;

"If you want to be friends with her, just talk about her boobs!"

Ouch.. My first impression was that this comment was made in some sort of "evil" intention to hurt me, or to tell me that "I don't like you!". I texted one of the people who was in charge, and was reassured that that comment had indeed been added to my page after they were done editing it. At first, as mentioned, I took this as an indirect message of dislike, and I felt really low. I know you're not supposed to let these things get to you, but it did. The thing is, someone in my class have written that comment. A person from the class of people whom I all consider my friends, on some level. I felt disgusted, sad and frustrated. I was so upset, partly because it felt like there was this one person, or several perhaps, who saw me as nothing but boobs. It was horrible. My boobs are quite big, and therefor naturally quite a big part of who I am, and I like my boobs - but to think that someone who you consider a friend sees you as nothing but a big pair of boobs? Horrible. I am just a pair of big boobs! I am a person! With a personality! Sigh.

That comment really got to me, and it sucked. I just stared at it, got angry and stared more at it. I was trying to figure out who wrote it, but no one in particular came to my mind. My mother tried to soothe me. My father tried too - not necessarily very good, but he tried. My mum said that it was probably "some flat-chested brat who's jealous of you" or "a guy who hasn't been allowed to touch, or is jealous of your boyfriend." It didn't really sink in, or help at first - but as mentioned I've "calmed down" by now.

My dear boyfriend is sure that it was meant as a joke, or at least not written with "evil" intentions, and I hope he's right. It feels like everyone but me is taking it very lightly, and it's hard to feel like this, especially when I don't want it to get to me, and I just want to forget it. If this really is meant as a joke I cant help but feel that is is a really crappy joke.. Sure, it could "work" if it was in a conversation of something, where you could read facial expressions, and hear the tone of voice to help you decode the "sender's" intentions. But when it's written down that is very hard to do. I kind of hope that it's "just" a joke that I've taken very seriously - I can't really handle the prospect of having some people in my own class secretly loathe me and go behind my back in such a way. Ugh..

That is all the air I need to let out, I think. For me it helps to put my feelings into writing, and to "organize" my brain on the topic.. By the way I made some hashtags on a Instagram post I made. Translated, my two favorites are;
#TheyreFineAndTheyreMine
#HoldingMyChinAndBoobiesUpHigh
See ya!

#304: HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hello again and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hello again everyone, I hope the ones who celebrated new year had an amazing evening, whether you were staying in, or going out. I went to a party at one of friends' house with most of the people from my class and most from his class. I ate dinner with my parents and one of my dad's friends who was our guest for the evening. We had a three course meal, and the food was absolutely amazing! My parents and our guest had vine and champagne along with the food, whereas I only drank water, because I was driving my boyfriend and I for the party after dinner.

In Denmark we have a royal family, and we have our Queen. I'm not talking Tyler Oakly style queen here, no no, we have our queen Margrethe the 2nd. She is 74 years old and has been regent since 1972. Every year at 6PM on New Year's Eve she gives a speech from her home, broadcasted on the "national channel". She usually sends her greetings to the soldiers deployed, the people working on oil rigs in the sea and so on. Some of her messages change from year to year, kind of along with the "changing" of the political topics. The royal family is not to get involved in politics, but her annual speech is her way of commenting on it, without commenting - it's quite sneaky.
It is always nice to listen to the queen's speech. Families and friends usually gather around the tv, sit down with some champagne and what we call "kransekage", which is something special to Scandinavia - I haven't heard of it being eaten anywhere else. I'll post a picture of if, and maybe someone can tell me if it's anywhere else, and what it's called there? ;-)

After dinner I got dressed and went to pick up my boyfriend at his house. He was already slightly drunk, bur he kind of brushed it off. When I asked what he had had, it ran up to about two glasses of champagne, two glasses of wine, a White Russian or two and a shot - approximately. I couldn't help but laugh a bit about it, especially when the penny dropped, and he realised the reason(s) for him being drunk. I drove us to the party and we finally got there, even a bit late.

At 12 o'clock we went outside to see the fireworks and to drink our champagne. This new year was the first of hopefully many to come, that I spent with my lovely boyfriend. Standing almost alone and embracing him and being embraced on the sidewalk, watching the fireworks and drinking champagne together was almost magical. It's so damn cliché, but that little moment was amazing and I love that boy for the timing of the moment, and seven words that again, super cliché, made me smile a whole frikkin lot.

"Happy New Year's, my love. I love you!"

Seven simple words, and it made me glow for the rest of the evening. Cliché - I know.
Anyway.. The rest of the night was awesome, and I had so much fun with my lovely, crazy and amazing friends. Just like last year's party, I was one of the last people to hit the hay. I hadn't been drinking strong liquor for hours, so my buzz was naturally wearing off as my body was "digesting" the alcohol in my blood. My dear boyfriend, on the other hand, was still quite shitfaced. I had been at that stage earlier on, but he was still there, and being the very rational being that he his, he of course decided that the last 100ml of Jack D shouldn't go to waste, so he chugged it down. Yuk.

That decision turned out to be baaaaaaad.. It was around 7AM in the morning, and he was barely laying down before he decided that he needed to go occupy the downstairs bathroom. He told me to go sleep again, so I did (loving girlfriend right here.. ) ;-) He slept a bit in the bathroom, puked a bit and went back to sleep. When the house was woken up to get breakfast, he managed to climb up the stairs and forced a glass of juice down. That came up later.
I couldn't help but both feel like it was a lot of his own fault, asI had tried to stop him from chugging the Jack, without him listening - but I also felt a bit bad for him, as he is my dear boyfriend and I hate generally hate seeing people I care for being sick, hurting ect. I cared for him the best I could, and made sure he drank a bit of water from time to time, so he had something to puke up.

A lot of the guests who had stayed the night at the house had left, so we were only 5-7 people to clean the entire house. That is (sadly) something we are used to, and we always have a good time anyway. The "5-7 people" is because a friend of the host joined us, the cleaning team, during the afternoon, and one of the boys tend to sleep forever, so he only got up for the last hour or something. While the rest of us was cleaning I checked up on my boyfriend, gave him water, and acted all Florence Nightingale in between cleaning up here and there.

As the afternoon progressed and the house was getting prettier, I intended to honour and agreement I made with one of the boys the previous night - to go get junkfood from McD. I went with my friend who I made the agreement with, we took orders from the others and went off. We returned with the food, and was almost greeted as heroes. While we had been gone my dear boyfriend had been sick again, the poor thing. I sat with him in the bathroom as he was sick, and after about half an hour he had had a nice long break, so I was going to take him home.

I got the poor thing home, drove home myself, showered, ate dinner and went to bed. My new year's eve wasn't filled with drama, accidents or other not-so-good things like what happened a bit of last year, so for me it was an amazing night.

I hope all of you had an amazing time celebrating the new year - and thanks for sticking with me, and my horribly long, and rare posts on this blog of mine! Thank you, and happy new year!!

#303: tumblr question time waisting

Hey guys and gals!

It is past 8pm, and as far as writing on my huge paper, my day has. It been productive at all.. My almost one year old niece stayed here from yesterday till about 1pm because my brother and his girlfriend went to an event with the company my brother works for. I really don't mind her being her, I love my niece more than anything, she is my princess - but the timing just really, really sucked.. I had hoped to get a lot done today - and that just wasn't possible. Anyway - since it is getting too late to do anything productive, I thought I might as well just use some time to get something "done" on here :-)

I went on tumblr, as I often do, and found some "Christmas holiday questions" and thought I might as well answer them, as I have nothing more productive to spend my time on. So here we go, questions - whether you like it or not! ;-)

Gingerbread: Do you like tea?
Mostly, yeah. I prefer strong tasting tea, cause even though it is boiled water and herbs - I do prefer to taste the herbs, not the water.. Please.

Tinsel: What perfume/cologne do you wear?
Eh, damn.. Right now I thing I'm wearing Miss Dior or something.. It's a fresh, summery, flowery something. It's nice!

Holly: Who was the last person you sent a letter to?
Uhhh.. I think it was to my aunt, thought it was a postcard. Since my grandmother started using e-mail, I don't really have many opportunities to write letters.

North Pole: What in your life are you most grateful for?
How forgiving my parents and friends can be of me and my weird persona. I know I sometimes bitch a lot about my parents, but they are also amazing at times. There was a time when I wasn't feeling very good, and I made some bad decesions (this sounds like I did meth or something.. I didn't, it was not at all that bad), and even though my parents were mad at me for a while, and made me feel shit - they really helped me through it, and helped me move on from my "dark times". So yeah - I'm grateful for those old crows <3

Christmas Carole: Would you change your name if you could?
When I was younger I thought I really thought I looked way more like an Emilia than a Kristine - but it sort of went away over the years. I sometimes get really annoyed that a lot of people can figure out what I'm called, since there's Kathrine, Kathrina, Christina Kristin, Kristie, Kirstin - and so on! That sometimes makes me wish I had a "simpler" name. A girl in an Irish Starbucks called my Justine,  it sounds good and I could see myself as a Justine - but I'm actually quite happy with my name. It's special, but not too special. So, no.

Santa: What's your favorite month?
May would be an obvious choice, since it's my birthday month - but I think I'm going to go with July. It's the holiday, but most people have returned from their holidays, so I have my friends around, to waste time with my favorite people.

Noell: At a movie theature, which armrest is yours?
I'm actually really good at keeping my arms to myself, but if I'm going to use it, I think it's the left one.

Eggnog: What was the name of your first stuffed animal?
Sadly I'm not sure how the spell it, I'll have to look it up, but as far as I remember it was a white baby seal called "seal" in the native language of the people of Greenland. Some friends of my parents gave it to me, and I actually still have it. Okay I tried looking it up online (Google translate did not support the language), and it is puisi. Now, get your minds out of the gutters, it is pronounced more like "bui-si".. Or something... My first stuffed animal was called Puisi.

Mrs. Clause: Have you ever been on a boat in the ocean?
Not really.. I have been on ferries in "inland waters", if you'd call it that, but I have actually never been out on the big oceans.

Hot Cocoa: What's your favorite thing about yourself?
It honestly varies a lot; some days it's my eyes, others it's my hair or my lips. I generally like my lips, I don't know why - but I just really like their plumb-ness, or something - I don't really have a good reason. Ah, yes - when my nails are nicely done they are definetly the best thing!

Reindeer: What is your patronus?
I believe I got tested on Pottermore to have my patronus be a dolphin.. I think. I'm not sure what that says about me.

Yule Log: Least favorite vegetable?
Brussels sprouts.. When boiled I personally think they smell like cheese farts and three week old socks - at best.. My parents are apparently sure they can find a way to cook them that I'll like, but right now I have my doubts.

Stocking: What color are your socks right now?
Multicoloured, actually! They have a black "bagground"  (as in; the toes and under the foot is black, nothin more) and then yellow, royal blue, grey, pink, boudreaux and orange stripes, in that order. They're quite funky.

Elf: If you had unlimited money to one shop, which shop would it be?
An all payed for, furniture includes apartment in the heart of Aarhus. That is way too expensive in "real life"..

Wreath: Are you allergic to anything?
Actually no, I'm that lucky! I got tested for 10 different kinds of allergies, and the nurse was apparently nervous to cause me any serious damage, so for 4 of the cuts I had to have, she didn't cut deep enough, so she had to do it again. 20 small holes in my arm - getting tested for allergies is sooo fun.

Cookies: Top three favorite bands?
Oh, no.. Ehm, I'm really not good with actually "scoring" bands or singers, so it's not really in a particular order..
Queen
Fall Out Boy
One Direction

Toys: Do you want children?
I'm pretty sure I do. In the future, like in about 10 years or something? I want to have a "functioning" life and be able to care for myself (and the man I will have the baby with), before I set a child into this world. I think getting a child you now you won't be able to care for, in one way or another, can be brutal - I've seen it personally and it's really not pretty.. If you're wondering - I'm pro-choice.

Sleigh Bells: Can you whistle?
Yes and no. As far as I know, it has a double mening. I can whistle melodies and songs, but I can't make those highpitch whistle sounds - you know the ones you see the boys do in movies? I think you know what I mean.

Snowman: Do you like accents?
Depends on the accent. But generally, yeah!

This took a ridiculesly long time to type out on my cellphone - but it got me spending time, which was my goal.. 'Till next time!

#302: The next two weeks

Hello!

This will be the shortest post on this blog (I believe, I'm not going to go through all of my posts to find the shortest one), and it is just a little disclaimer, because the next few weeks I am going to be inactive on this blog. Normally when I don't write on the blog for weeks, I do check up on it and try to write something (but fail to do so), but I'm not going to in the next two weeks.

Reason: I have a big assignment (it's called SRP in my language, but it's not really translatable) for school - 15 to 20 pages of scientific studies and analysis. Yeah.. It is due on the 19th of December, so I better get going. I might be uploading pictures in my "breaks", but just to justify my absence on the blog for this time - I am not going to be posting big text posts before I am done with my assignment.

Peace out, for now guys - AND GOOD LUCK TO MY FELLOW STUDENTS STU(DYING) FOR MIDTERMS! YOU CAN DO IT!!

#301: Formal

Hello once again!

Last Friday, the 14th of November, my school held the annual formal for the 3rd year students. Of course the 2nd and 1st years are there as well, but they just don't really do a lot. The 3rd years are the one getting "celebrated" despite the fact that we have a little more than 6 months left of this school. For some reason the formal is in the fall in stead of the spring, which would totally make more sense(!!), but it's tradition - and it will probably just stay that way. I'm a bit unsure what to call it, there's prom, ball, formal - and surely a lot of other names - but I'm going with formal because it's mostly long dressed, and we learn a certain dance we have to dance, called les lanciers. There's five rounds, and the first round goes something like this:

The version we do at my school isn't totally identical, but it's quite close to what's on the video. I believe the dance will give you a clue as to why I'm calling it "formal" and not a dance, prom or a ball. The most of the years the formal has been held at my school, there has been taken pictures of the classes in their formal wear. Of course it's just a picture, but for a lot of people it's quite a big deal - because it's formal, you're all dressed up, the girls have had their hair done - and it's just a rare opportunity to get a beautiful picture of the entire class, all dressed up.

All formal

As far as I believe, this is the first year there has been a professional photographer out on the school to take the pictures of the classes. The other years it has just been one of the teachers from the school who lined the students up, and took a few pictures with poor lighting, and the students had approximately 0,2 seconds to pose, focus, smile and look at the camera before the photo was taken. This year it was a professional photographer with these huge flashes, a nice attitude and he took a bunch of pictures, and choose the best. I'm quite happy about the pictures. Now, I'm saying pictures, as in plural, and that is because we also took at "silly picture". Prepare, it is gold.

TADAA
We went from a nice, formal pose to complete silly chaos in about 3 seconds, and it felt hilarious! I think I was trying to do a Will Smith - "I made this/Look at this!" pose, and I think it went okay. There is a lot of lifting, grabbing and weird poses and faces, and I think you can really tell that we're having fun. Of course some people are just kind of standing there, but that's how it will always be ;-). The boys in my class are mental, I love those idiots. Oh, and if you don't know who I am - I'm the blonde out to the far right in the red dress.

I loved that evening, and I feel like wearing my beautiful dress all the time! As you might see on the picture I wasn't wearing the biggest of heels, as my boyfriend is "only" 8-10 centimetres taller than me, and I didn't want to be taller than him - luckily I found a cute pair of silver sandals to wear. Despite the heels, the dance went amazing! I didn't trip or fall of stumble - we remembered everything, and we were smiling and we were just fantastic! My dancing partner and boyfriend is the silly manboy 4th from the right in the row of boys.

The pictures were up yesterday, so I figured I would post them here, and just give you all a little update. Tonight I'm going to see a basketball game in the EuroChallenge leauge, with my boyfriend and his father. It's my boyfriends birthday tomorrow, and the dude is going to be 19! I know I usually say I feel old, but at least I'm not as old as that old wreck ;-) The bell is about to ring, to call off the school day, so I'll wrap it up!

See ya - and thanks for reading!

#300: Glasses and London

Hello one again!

It's been quite a while, I am aware of that. It is sort of silly how I can get writer's block just because of a blogpost, but apparently I can - woobdidoo! I just opened my blog, and I haven't posted since the start of September, and before that it was 14th of August.. Well, poop. I remember when I felt like I could post fourteen thousand things a day, but I felt like I would be posting too much, and well, now I'm shit at posting regularly. I do, somehow, still get views, and not just on the "chainletters" post, but on other posts as well - which is something I don't really understand.

Since September a lot of things have happened. I've gotten glasses, which is one thing! The glasses I have are reading glasses, but I'll be wearing them "permanently, because the "top" of the glasses are only +0.25, which is almost nothing. I got tested to 0.25 in the top and +1.0 on reading distance. The dictionary tells me that it's called "crossfade" and we should always trust the dictionary. My glasses are crossfading, so I can use them on class, for when the teacher writes on the blackboard or the smart-board but also look down and read.

I honestly thought that crossfading glasses would fuck with me and my sight, but it works really well. It has really been a relief to get glasses, I had almost forgotten how it felt to read and have relaxed eyes. It sounds weird, but people with reading glasses will know what I'm talking about! I looked at a few pairs, but ultimately ended up choosing the ones I saw first, and I'm starting to see a pattern here, it also happened with my formal dress (more about that later). Of course it was the most expensive pair of the three, but as my father said: when it's glasses you're going to use for years, it better be glasses you like to wear, or else you're not going to wear them at all.

This is a still from a video, it was the first thing on my phone.

In my fall break I went to London with my boyfriend - LONDON BABY! I've been to London once before, but the circumstances were quite different. First time I went, I went with my parents, two of their friends and two of their three children. Doest that make sense? Okay.. My parents + me. Married couple friends + two "children". The "children" were about two and four years older than me, so we didn't interact much. Anyway, the other family wasn't much of a history-loving family, so we spent most of our time in London visiting attractions and just seeing the city, and we went to see Lion King as a musical. I loved it, but I really wanted to see some of the historical parts of London.

Another thing was that I was in a wheelchair, because I had some sickness in my foot. Another thing that was special about the trip was that we were staying at a super, over-the-top, extremely and almost way too fancy hotel. It was crazy. We were there celebrating my parents' copper wedding, which is something we celebrate at 12½ years of marriage. We were then staying at this crazy fancy place, with a huge breakfast room, with a chef in each room, ready to cook omelets and all sorts of crazy stuff - and you almost weren't "allowed" to move a finger yourself.

This time around I was there with my boyfriend, and we stayed at his cousins' girlfriend's place. It was extremely cozy, and we went out for drinks, saw a play with one of the girlfriend's friends as the lead role, and I actually got to see some of the historical sites I've been wanting to see. The fact that we stayed in an apartment, and went out to get our food at shops and small pus and so on, made it feel like we were living in London, not just visiting on vacation. I really loved it, and I got to go to Tower, which is something I've been wanting to do for a long time.

Aren't we just hella cute? I think we are.

I remember the time I was in London with my parents, my mother feared the tube like it was the devil or something. My dear mother found the system hard to navigate through, and left it to my father and I to figure out where we were going. This time Marcel and I had some time on our own, which meant that we were also going to navigate through the tube all by ourselves. It went well, but damn did we get weird look for eating in the subway.. Is that not normal? Anyone from London who could help me here? We lived in Fulham, and the tube ride from there to Tower was 50 minutes.. 50 minutes. My dear lord, that was soo long.

All in all the trip was amazing. My goal is still to go to the "Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter", I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and I would love to go there! Marcel has been there before, and I am honestly super jealous.. So next time I go to London, it is a must for me to go there! And I will be going to London again! Marcel-s cousin and his girlfriend said that they would love for us to come back again some time, and we definitely will!

This is it for now, it feels good to finally have written something. Why it always turns into freaking novels, is something I'll have to work on - bye ;-)

#298: Let's get back to business

Summer vacation is over, and the time to relax is therefore as well. And my neglect of this blog should be changed and it should be done something about.. Which I'll try! I'm honestly totally lost, when it comes to what topics I should write about. I want to write, and I love doing it, but right now I'm just a bit lost.. If there's anyone out there how would like to suggest a theme, a topic or something like that, feel free to do so in the comments! :-)

I've started my last year in the gymnasium, which means that at this time next year, I'll be all done with school.. For now. I have no idea if I want to start at university, or what I want to study, and when or where to do it. Basically I'm a bit lost - but when it comes to uni, I've been lost for a couple of years, so I've gotten used to it by now.
I am trying to sort things out, so that I can go to Australia for some time after I'm done in school - it's something I really want to do afterwards, because I want a break after having studied for 13 years of my then 19 years of life. - And because I've always dreamt of going to Australia and experience all of the lovely country (even though 90% of the animals are indirectly trying to kill you..).

Last year in school went horrible when it comes to grades.. Of course I had some subjects I did very well in, but overall I dropped at least one grade - which sucked camel balls. Obviously this didn't just happen out of nowhere, it happened because I was 1) lacking overview and surplus to handle things 2) feeling like I wasn't good enough for school and my class 3) fighting myself and ended up convincing myself that I might as well just give up. I ended up pulling myself a bit together and saving a few of my grades in the last two months, so I didn't fall completely through - and in the one exam I went to last year (oral German), I got what's equivalent to an A+, so I didn't fall completely on my ass.

So during the summer holiday I have had some conversations with my parents and myself about what to do this year, to better myself and to help me gain some of the surplus I've felt I've lost during the last year. Time schedules dividing the time I have between school, boyfriend, friends, scouting and spare time in general, should help me gain overview over my life and give me more energy.

My parents' reactions have varied a lot - starting the summer vacation they were very upset with me and my grades, and were telling me how I should have done much better in school, how I wasn't living up to my potential and tried forcing me to get a tutor for some of the subjects where I didn't understand my teachers. Even though I now believe that their disappointment and anger was a reaction of being hurt on behalf of my future - their statements hurt me very much at the time, and I do still feel hurt from time to time, having a hard time believing that my own parents could say things like that to me - feeling they called me stupid and not good enough. That wasn't what they meant, but words are perceived differently when you are in a different mind-state.

After some conversations and long discussions during the summer,  I was dreading the "family meeting" my mother had announced we were going to have, a few days before I should start school. I was really scared that it would be sort of a "slaughter" of me and just mocking and grinding me down to nothing. Despite my fears, the "meeting" actually went okay. My parents seemed much more supportive, and it actually seemed like they had "forgot the past" (as I had begged them to do in tears a couple of times during the fights we had had in the summer) and they were finally ready to move on, and look forward and try to see what could be done to help me back up on my feet.

After that meeting I feel like my parents are actually with me and not against me, which is really something I need to get through this year, and not die, or go down with stress in the process. I feel supported now, and I feel much more ready to take on this year, and come out as a victor!

I hope you guys haven't died reading this, apparently I felt like it was a good thing to get off my chest, and also to start off with.

(Did you notice the number #298 in the title? That's a new thing I'm trying to do, just for fun - and then we'll see how I like it)

Cheers!

Corgi obsession

Sooo, lately I have become quite obsessed with corgis. You know, the dog breed with the giant ears and the teeny tiny legs? Yeah, I love those! I have no idea why, because usually small dog annoy me a bit, they always seem so aggressive, but this one is just.. Too damn fucking cute! Of course I had to go to google pictures of corgis, and then I got the splendid idea that corgi puppies would be even better.. I was not disappointed..

THIS IS THE CUTEST LITTLE THING IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! I KNOW I'M BEING EXTREMELY SAPPY ABOUT THIS BUT HOLY CRAP WOULD YOU FUCKING LOOK AT THAT CUTE LITTLE THING!?!?!

Calming down, but seriously.. This is too much for me to handle. My boyfriend and I talked about getting a dog, when we get to that point - which we're planning to do - and that that dog should totally be a corgi! We also talked about getting a pug, because those are also pretty damn fucking cute.

Back into that world of corgi puppies, I also found a picture of a laying puppy, something that is really hard to resist.. So here you go!

Now, look at that and tell me that that isn't one of the fucking cutest things on this planet? It is.

I am very well aware of the fact that this hasn't been the most informative post ever, and that I have basically only expressed a bit about my newly found love for corgis.. But that was all I wanted with this post, so it's okay.

As for "real" blog posts, I have hit a "dry spell", so to say - as I haven't gotten anything very important or interesting to talk about, and I have some finals coming up, so I don't feel like I have the brain capacity to make think of something important I want to talk about, or discuss. I think some of you might think it's annoying that I don't post relevant and interesting stuff, but sometimes I just feel like posting stuff, and then I'm sorry if you guys don't like it ;-)
